§ 15.30.010. Parking prohibited.

  • When parking restriction areas are specified by an enacting resolution and appropriate curb color or signage is installed, it shall be unlawful to park or leave standing any vehicle, whether attended or unattended, in a restricted parking zone upon the grounds of the county civic center or other county parking facility, except in designated areas as follows:

    (a)

    Two-hour parking shall be between the hours of seven a.m. and five p.m. except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Holidays shall mean only those holidays designated by the board of supervisors under the provision of Section 2.44.040 of this code.

    (b)

    Thirty-minute parking shall be between the hours of seven a.m. and five p.m. except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Holidays shall mean only those holidays designated by the board of supervisors under the provision of Section 2.44.040 of this code.

    (c)

    Twenty-minute parking shall be between the hours of seven a.m. and five p.m. except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Holidays shall mean only those holidays designated by the board of supervisors under the provision of Section 2.44.040 of this code.

    (d)

    Official vehicle parking where all vehicles have either government license plates or appropriate county permit.

    (e)

    Employee carpool parking where all vehicles must display a valid county carpool permit.

    (f)

    Loading/unloading zone restricted to buses and commercial vehicles actually engaged in loading or unloading passengers and/or freight, to be designated with yellow curb markings per California Vehicle Code Section 21458(a)(2).

    (g)

    Passenger loading/unloading zone designed with white curb markings per the California Vehicle Code Section 21458(a)(3).

    (h)

    Motorcycle parking only.

    (i)

    Four-hour parking shall be between the hours of seven a.m. and five p.m. except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Holidays shall mean only those holidays designated by the board of supervisors under the provision of Section 2.44.040 of this code.

    (j)

    Daytime no parking zone shall be between six a.m. and two p.m. except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Holidays shall mean only those holidays designated by the board of supervisors under the provision of Section 2.44.040 of this code.

    (k)

    When identified by an enacting resolution of the board of supervisors, a department director may be authorized to issue parking permits and/or exemptions to parking restrictions within areas that his or her department manages or maintains.
